Vanton Pumps

Vanton pumps handle corrosive liquids, chemical solutions, and other demanding fluids. Applications include chemical processing, wastewater treatment, metal finishing, and processes where resistance to corrosion or product contamination is important.

Vanton's products include horizontal and vertical thermoplastic centrifugal pumps and FLEX-I-LINER flexible-liner pumps. The appropriate design depends on the liquid, required flow and pressure, and installation arrangement.

A compatible thermoplastic can resist chemical attack that would damage some metals. Material selection must still account for chemical concentration, temperature, pressure, and mechanical demands rather than corrosion resistance alone.

Nonmetallic wetted components can help limit metallic contamination from the pump. High-purity applications still require confirmation of the complete wetted construction, material suitability, cleanliness requirements, and possible extractables.

FLEX-I-LINER is a sealless, peristaltic-type rotary pump. Its fluid path is formed by a rigid body block and a replaceable flexible liner, keeping the pumped liquid separate from the mechanical drive components.

An eccentric rotor deforms the flexible liner, moving liquid through the space between the liner and body block. This pumping action does not require conventional internal check valves or a rotating shaft seal.

FLEX-I-LINER pumps are self-priming. That capability should not be assumed for every Vanton centrifugal pump. Confirm priming requirements and allowable suction conditions for the selected model.

Vanton identifies FLEX-I-LINER pumps as capable of dry operation. This does not establish dry-running capability for other Vanton designs; follow the operating instructions for the specific pump and application.

FLEX-I-LINER pumps can handle selected viscous liquids and slurries containing soft solids or abrasives. Actual suitability depends on viscosity, particle characteristics, concentration, speed, and the chosen body and liner materials.

Consider the liquid source, available space, suction conditions, and maintenance access. A vertical arrangement may suit a sump or tank, while a horizontal arrangement may fit a floor-mounted transfer or circulation system.

Provide the required flow and head or discharge pressure, along with liquid properties and suction conditions. For sump installations, include tank depth, operating liquid levels, and the required mounting arrangement.

Limits vary with the pump design, construction materials, and liquid. Evaluate temperature and pressure together using the selected model's ratings; a material's chemical compatibility alone does not establish its allowable operating conditions.

Maintenance depends on the design and operating conditions. Follow the model-specific instructions for inspecting wear components, checking connections, and monitoring performance. Flexible-liner pumps also require inspection and replacement of the liner as needed.
